VoIP Configuration Gold Coast

Many users give up on VoIP because of the configuration needed to get it working properly — often unaware the real culprit is a network misconfiguration, the router’s firewall, or a setting like SIP ALG quietly mangling their calls. With over 18 years of VoIP experience for home and business users, Mobile Techs gets your service operating exactly as it should, from a single handset to a complex multi-location network. We can also build and configure a custom Linux-based VoIP server on the open-source Asterisk platform.

Most configuration and troubleshooting can be done remotely, anywhere in Australia — and once it’s fixed, we’ll explain what was actually wrong in plain English, so you know what to watch for if it ever plays up again.

What We Configure & Fix

VoIP Phones & Handsets

Provisioning of desk phones, softphones and ATAs — accounts, codecs, firmware and line keys configured so every handset just works, at the office or at home.

PBX Systems

Setup and configuration of PBX systems including Asterisk and FreePBX — extensions, trunks, queues and IVR menus, right up to fully custom dial plans.

Routing & Network Configuration

Router and firewall configuration for reliable voice: correct port forwarding, QoS so calls take priority over downloads, and network settings tuned for VoIP traffic.

One-Way or No Audio

The classic VoIP fault: calls connect but one side hears nothing. Almost always NAT or firewall related — we trace where the audio is being lost and fix it properly.

Registration Issues

Phones showing offline, dropping registration randomly, or refusing to register at all — credentials, NAT keep-alives and firewall timeouts checked and corrected.

SIP ALG & Router Quirks

SIP ALG is meant to help VoIP through your router — in practice it rewrites traffic and breaks calls. We disable or work around it and configure the router the right way.

If your phones drop offline, ring silently, or connect with no sound, the odds are it’s one of the problems above — and most are fixed in a single remote session.
