Work With Us

Join a team that lives and breathes IT

Established 2008 — on-site service across the Gold Coast, remote support Australia-wide.

Custom solutions tailored to each client — never cookie-cutter fixes.

We’re not looking for people who see IT as just a job. We’re looking for the ones who tinker at home, who can’t walk past a problem without wanting to solve it, and who genuinely enjoy making technology work for real people. Since 2008, Mobile Techs has built its reputation on doing IT properly: no jargon, no cookie-cutter fixes, and a real relationship with every client. From on-site computer repairs and business IT to Linux servers, VoIP phone systems, Microsoft 365, WordPress, networking, security and smart-home automation, the work here is genuinely varied.

If you’re the kind of person who takes pride in a job done right and wants to keep learning across a broad range of technologies, we’d love to hear from you. We’re currently welcoming expressions of interest for a System Administrator and a Level 2 Technical Support role, and we’re always keen to meet people with a genuine passion for IT.

System Administrator

Placeholder – EOI

You’ll look after the servers and systems our clients – and our own hosting – depend on. A hands-on role across Linux and Windows, VoIP, hosting, monitoring and security, with real scope to design and improve, not just maintain.

What we’re looking for

  • Solid Linux server administration (Debian/Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS) – command-line confident, from installs and hardening to troubleshooting
  • Windows Server and Microsoft 365 / Entra ID / Azure administration
  • Networking fundamentals – firewalls, VLANs, DNS, DHCP and VPNs (IPsec, OpenVPN, WireGuard)
  • Web and mail hosting stacks – Apache/Nginx, PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, mail servers and DNS management
  • VoIP / Asterisk PBX experience, or a genuine willingness to learn it
  • Backups, monitoring and alerting – setting them up and acting on them
  • A security-first mindset – patching, access control and the Essential Eight
  • Scripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell or Python)

Nice to have

  • WordPress hosting and management at scale
  • Virtualisation and containers (Proxmox, Docker)
  • Home Assistant or other smart-home platforms
  • Relevant certifications (Linux, Microsoft, Cisco, security)

The essentials

  • Based on or near the Gold Coast, with a current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • Australian work rights and a clean background (police check may be required)
  • Clear communication – able to explain technical things in plain English
  • A genuine passion for IT and a drive to keep learning

Level 2 Technical Support

Placeholder – EOI

You’ll be who clients rely on when something needs real troubleshooting – the tickets escalated past first contact, both remotely and on-site across the Gold Coast. Every day is different: repairs, setups, migrations, networking and helping people get their technology working the way it should.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting across Windows and macOS – hardware and software
  • Confident with laptop and desktop repairs, upgrades, virus and malware removal, and data-recovery basics
  • Device migrations and new-computer setups done cleanly and completely
  • Microsoft 365 setup and support – email, accounts, OneDrive/SharePoint
  • Home and small-business networking – routers, Wi-Fi, printers and NAS
  • Comfortable delivering remote support and explaining steps to non-technical customers
  • Understanding of common security risks – phishing, ransomware and safe practices
  • Well organised, able to prioritise, and thorough with notes and follow-up

Nice to have

  • Exposure to VoIP phones, servers or Linux
  • WordPress or website basics
  • Smart-home / home automation experience
  • Relevant IT qualifications or certifications

The essentials

  • Based on or near the Gold Coast, with a current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

  • A friendly, patient, customer-first manner
  • A genuine passion for IT – the kind that doesn’t clock off at 5

Ideal for an experienced technician who wants variety, autonomy and steady work while keeping the flexibility of contracting.
